Early Life & Education
Luis Diaz, an ancestor of the Wayuu indigenous group was born in Barrancas, La Guajira, Colombia on the 13th of January 1997. His interest in football began at the age of six and led to Luis Diaz’s father Luis Manuel Diaz becoming the position of coach for his very first team.
As a child in a tolerant family atmosphere, Luis Diaz was also surrounded by his mother Silenis Marulanda, and two other siblings with the names of Roger David Diaz and Jesus Manuel Diaz.
In the course of his studies, Luis Diaz earned his medical and undergraduate degrees from the highly regarded University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine.
Career
Luis Diaz embarked on his journey in soccer beginning with Barranquilla in the Colombian Second Division before moving to Atletico Junior in the second division, where he scored a win at the Categoria Primera A, securing an appearance in the Copa Colombia and Superliga Colombiana.
In the year 2019, he joined Porto 2019 for EUR7 million. He was successful in Portugal by winning two wins at the top of Primeira Liga and Taca de Portugal and the Supertaca Dolce de Oliveira victory.
Liverpool attracted Diaz at the beginning of January in 2022 to sign for EUR45 million. Luis Diaz‘s debut match in February concluded in victory with a 3-1 win over Cardiff City.
